Parent Cooperative
Parents are an integral part of Cloverdale. We value all of our families' involvement in their child’s early educational experiences and rely on their assistance in the overall maintenance of our program to optimally function. Please consider the cooperative aspect of Cloverdale when determining if our school is the right match for your child as well as your family.
Parent Participation
- Parents are expected to attend the parent orientation meeting at the beginning of the year during which essential information is disseminated and discussed. Additional parent meetings and social events may be scheduled throughout the year.
- One parent from each family should expect to sign up for a job to assist with the maintenance of Cloverdale. Each month, jobs are listed for which each family signs up for a slot requiring about 1-2 hours of time. Your commitment to this responsibility is crucial to our day-to-day operations and allows Cloverdale to be the high quality program that it is. Families may choose to buy-out from their work responsibilities on a month-by-month basis. The cost of buying out is $40 per month. Online sign-ups must be completed by the 5th of each month; otherwise, it is assumed you are buying out of your monthly work.
- Parents are expected to come into the classroom for the morning as parent of the day, once in the fall and once in the spring. It provides the opportunity to spend time in our warm, dynamic classroom, familiarize yourself with the other children, the teachers, and the school environment, and to be part of your child’s new and exciting school experience. Sign-ups for parent of the day are available online. If you are unable to come in, a grandparent, aunt, or uncle is a welcome substitute. This time in the classroom does not count toward your monthly work hours.
