Parent Cooperative
Parents are an integral part of Cloverdale. We value all of our families' involvement in their child’s early educational experiences and rely on their assistance in the overall maintenance of our program to optimally function. While most families participate in the cooperative aspect of the program, we do offer the option to buy out for families who are not able to commit to taking on a job.
Parent Participation
- Parents are expected to attend the parent orientation meeting at the beginning of the year during which essential information is disseminated and discussed. Additional parent meetings and social events may be scheduled throughout the year.
- One parent from each family should expect to sign up for a job to assist with the maintenance of Cloverdale. We provide a list of various jobs for families to choose from, which require about 1-2 hours of time. Each family signs up for one job for the year and commits to completing the task every other month. Your commitment to this responsibility is crucial to our day-to-day operations and allows Cloverdale to be the high-quality program that it is. If a family chooses to buy out, the fee is $200.
- We encourage parents to come into the classroom for the morning as parent of the day. It provides the opportunity to spend time in our classroom, familiarize yourself with the other children, the teachers, and the school environment, and to be part of your child’s new and exciting school experience. Sign-ups for parent of the day are available online. If you are unable to come in, a grandparent or another family member is a welcome substitute. This time in the classroom does not count toward your cooperative work hours.
